Why it matters03

Using AI is easy. Being accountable for it isn't.

AI can produce work that looks finished before it is trustworthy.

Responsible with AI teaches you what to trust, what to check and how to stand behind the output.

From a learner
“What I liked most was how relevant it felt to the work we actually do.”

“The examples made it easy to see where AI could help as a QS, but also where you need to slow down and check what it has produced.”

What professionals say
It doesn't discourage the use of AI, but it also doesn't pretend the technology is infallible.

The sections on checking assumptions, evidence and the certainty of AI-generated statements were especially relevant to commercial work, where a small change in wording can completely change the meaning of a position.

David WongCommercial Consultant
I was initially unsure whether the course would be too technical for me, but I found it very accessible. I finished it feeling much more comfortable about where AI can be useful and, importantly, where I still need to apply my own judgement.
Kathryn HadleySenior Quantity Surveyor
Not simply whether our people are using AI, but whether they are using it in a way we can stand behind. It gives professionals a much clearer understanding of where their responsibility sits.

Common questions04

Questions

What makes Responsible with AI different from AI basics training?

We don’t teach coding, AI hype or prompt tricks. Responsible with AI focuses on the professional capability around AI: what to trust, what to protect, what to verify, when to disclose and how to evidence the decisions you make. The aim is not simply to help you use AI — it is to help you use it without giving up professional judgement or accountability.

Which course is right for me?

Choose the level that matches the responsibility you carry. Foundation is for professionals using AI in their own work. Practitioner is for those using AI regularly to produce professional outputs. Reviewer is for people who review, approve or take responsibility for AI-assisted work produced by others.

Do I need to complete every level?

Not everyone needs every level. The pathway is progressive, so you only need to advance as far as your role requires. However, Practitioner builds on Foundation, and Reviewer builds on both Foundation and Practitioner, so the earlier levels should be completed before progressing.

Can my organisation train a team?

Yes. Responsible with AI can be used across teams, with people trained to the level that matches their role and responsibility. This means everyday users, regular practitioners and those responsible for reviewing or approving work can develop a shared approach to safe, accountable AI use rather than receiving the same generic training.
